Kampala, Uganda – Ugandan journalist Julius Kitone has launched JuliKitAi, an AI-powered climate news aggregator designed to provide accurate and reliable climate information to policymakers, researchers, businesses, and the general public.
The platform, also known as ECOEYE AI, uses natural language processing and machine learning to track, analyze, and compile climate-related news from around the world.
“I was motivated by the need to combat climate misinformation and provide accurate, reliable information to stakeholders,” Kitone told Globe News in an exclusive interview.
Kitone explained that the idea for JuliKitAi came from his own experiences as a journalist covering climate-related stories in Uganda.
“I realized that there was a lot of misinformation out there, and it was difficult to find reliable sources of information,” he said.
JuliKitAi aims to fill this gap by providing a one-stop-shop for climate-related news and information.
The platform’s features include AI-driven news aggregation, cross-platform accessibility, personalized and multilingual experiences, verified and transparent information, engaging and interactive content, sustainability-centric development, and climate education and policy advocacy.
Kitone said that he hopes JuliKitAi will become a go-to source for climate information, helping to bridge the knowledge gap and inform decision-making.
As the climate emergency intensifies, the need for reliable, AI-driven climate intelligence has never been more critical.
Kitone believes that JuliKitAi can play a major role in this effort, providing accurate, timely information to those who need it most.
“We’re not just talking about climate change, we’re talking about the future of our planet,” he said.
JuliKitAi is available online and can be accessed by anyone with an internet connection.
Kitone said that he plans to continue developing and refining the platform in the coming months, with the goal of making it an indispensable resource for climate information.
“We’re just getting started,” he said.
