The controversial blogger, Frank Gashumba who has a reputation of looking for survival at any slightest opportunity, saw the avenue to make some quick money in a “project” he usually terms as ( Kukuba oluseke) the moment he learnt that Jolin Kanoheri’s predicament needed urgent spin master.
Riding on the platform of Bavandimwe where the accused Kanoheri is also member, Gashumba approached her family with a proposal to be hired as a “media consultant” to divert the public from discussing the unclear circumstances under which a 2 year old Nganwa died allegedly at hands of Jolin to something that will make the public develop sympathy for Jolin Kanoheri.
According to the family sources , Gashumba assured the family that he would use his program on his program on Radio 4 to promote the diversion which would then be picked by his ” 10 MILLION ” followers on social media platforms who would in turn play vital role in making sure that the narrative agreed upon goes viral . In Addition, he promised that he would use his “POWERFUL” connections in government especially in the military and parliament to ensure that Jolin who was still at Jinja police station ,gets a bond and have the murder cases against her dropped immediately.
-Gashumba presents a “proposal-“
According the family sources ,Gashumba presented to them
what was going to be the “VERSION” that would make the public sympathize with Jolin . The Version Gashumba proposed to Jolin’s family was that after the birth of first born in 2010,Chris Rugari told his wife to perform hysterectomy as he wasn’t interested in having more children. That when she refused, the two separated and re united again in 2017 after Rugari had begged her to allow him back in her life and that by that time ,Jolin had already acquired two children outside whom Rugari “JUST MET “ for the first in 2017.
That again in 2017, Chris Rugari even accepted to adopt those two kids and also allowed them to use his family name Rugari.
According to Gashumba, that narrative was meant to water down the public anger towards Jolin’s adaterous behavior that made her get two kids outside wedlock with Rugari .
Jolin’s family members and friends Gashumba was making a presentation to , loved it and endorsed the narrative and gave him a go ahead to disseminate it to the public.
For it to work though , Frank Gashumba made financial request that involved millions of shillings and a cash deposit was made to him . According to the family sources privy to the details,Gashumba tried his best and successfully sold the narrative to one few local television and print newspaper as well as some online publications who picked and run it . With that little success ,Jolin’s family hopes of having all police bond and murder charges against her dropped got renewed.
Nevertheless , , doubts about Gashumba’s “BIG”connections with government top officials became apparent when he would try several times in vain to call them while in loud speaker morever in the presence of Jolin’s family members. “ He tried to call one the top government officials over 50 times and the phone would ring but no answer “ the source said .
With government top officials not helping him as expected ,he turned to some of the Uganda and overseas bloggers to aggressively promote his newly acquired diversionary angle according to the sources .
With some Ugandan bloggers in diaspora talking about it , Gashumba got a platform to push Jolin’s family against the wall to urgently look for more money to give him so that momentum is maintained.
At , one point, he threatened to stop the work until he is paid . Jolin’s family that was already struggling with the uphill task of raising money to pay the lawyers in her case became overwhelmed according to family sources. “
However,desperation to look for quick alternative ways to raise the funds so that Gashumba can resume the spinning forced them to approach a money lender based in Ntinda and used Jolin’s Land Cruiser V8 Registration Number UAY 811A , which Chris Rugari bought for her in 2015 as a birthday present . The family used it as a security to acquire money at 40% interest per month. The money lender asked the family to take the transfer form to Jolin who was at Jinja road police to sign it as well as sales agreement. The vehicle is now parked at money lenders office where it will be released after the family has paid back with interest.Jolin’s family immediately passed on that money to Frank Gashumba who promised that Jolin would be out of cells and cases dropped with immediate effect due to the” NOISE “he would be making on his social media platforms as well as Radio 4. This worried the family more as their intention of paying was not only about making noise but to secure a release .
In the end , the family was shocked and disappointed that not only did Jolin fail to get a police bond but was also charged in court with first degree murder and remanded in Luzira as opposed to Gashumba’s assurances that he has the “ABILITY “to put Uganda police on pressure to drop charges a factor that made some of Jolin’s family and friends regard the transaction with him as a long CON . Frank Gashumba isn’t new to scam and scandals. Between 2008- 2021, he has been in and out of prison due to cases related to forgery , impersonation, fraud and theft . Jolin Kanoheri alongside the house maid Robina Nabanja have been charged with premeditated murder of Nganwa Rugari. According to police reports, Kahoneri claims that Nganwa Rugari fell off from the second floor of the house, dropped on the Compaund pavers , where the mother picked him and rushed to the hospital. She claims that upon reaching the hospital, he was given first aid , and doctors there advised her to take him back home and that in the morning at 5am, she woke up to find him with high temperature and when she rushed him to the hospital , he was pronounced dead on the arrival.
However, according to reliable sources,when the postmortem was carried out, it was discovered that the body didn’t have any injuries both external and internal to suggest any justification that the death was a result of accident but instead pointed at sudden Oxgyen deprivation in the vital organs caused by suffocation as the cause of death the reason Jolin and her house maid Robina were charged with murder since the two who were staying with the baby are the ones who can explain who suffocated him .
Jolin and Robina were remanded to Luzira until 16th of May 2025.
-Chris Rugari’s reaction-
Recently, in a press release ,Chris Rugari laughed off at the Gashumb’s narrative insisting that those who originated that fabricated assertion need a sobriety test as what they are saying doesn’t make any logical sense to even a half time thinker. In the statement, he elaborated that he lived with his wife in a conflict free relationship with his wife until 2023 when he learnt that 2 out of 3 kids aren’t his and that he was present when all his kids were being born in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2022 , gave them his family name at birth,signed on all their birth , immunization, passports and other documents as their dad . He also stated that between 2011 to 2017, he acquired so some properties in and out of uganda that he co owns with Kanoheri Jolin thereby disapproving Gashumba that he only met the two in 2017 for the first time and that between 2011-2017 the two coupe was in separation.
In spite of Gashumba’s efforts to spin the story, the public has vehemently rejected it and instead is seeking for answers about claims that a kid can fall from second floor of house , drop on the hard surface but doesn’t sustain injuries both external and internal but postmortem discovers that he died of suffocation !
