KARAMOJA SUB-REGION, Uganda — A senior police official has called on officers operating in the Karamoja sub-region to maintain high levels of discipline and morale while carrying out their duties.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Byabagye Moses of the Inspectorate Department made the appeal during a needs assessment tour of the region. Byabagye is part of a nine-member team evaluating the condition and operations of the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU).
“We recognize the challenges officers face in this region, but discipline and professionalism must remain a priority in service delivery,” Byabagye emphasized.
He assured officers that police leadership is committed to improving their welfare and that positive changes are forthcoming.
“The leadership is aware of the conditions under which you work, and steps are being taken to improve your welfare. We urge you to remain focused and disciplined as these improvements take shape,” he stated.
The assessment tour is expected to provide critical insights into the needs of officers in Karamoja, particularly those involved in combating cattle rustling and enforcing security.
