Uganda has a new reason to celebrate on the global stage. Natasha Nyonyozi, representing the country at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Telangana, India, has been named the Beauty With A Purpose Overall Winner for Africa.
Competing among 108 contestants from around the world, Natasha distinguished herself not just through her poise and presence but through the depth of her humanitarian mission—The Nyonyozi Initiative.
Rooted in personal experience, the initiative was inspired by her younger brother Ethan, who is on the autism spectrum.
“This is not just an award for me, but it is dedicated to my little brother Ethan and every family that has a special needs child,” she said.
Her work focuses on autism awareness in Uganda, where stigma and misinformation remain major barriers. Through outreach and advocacy, Natasha is driving a national conversation on neurodiversity and inclusion. She’s not just raising awareness—she’s building understanding.
Natasha is also the author of Colours of the Spectrum, a book that gives voice to children with autism and their families. The publication has become a valuable educational resource, encouraging empathy and informed dialogue in communities.
Following her win, Natasha took to social media to express her joy and gratitude.
“God truly outdid Himself with this one! I’m so grateful to missworld for recognising my project nyonyozinitiative and giving me the opportunity to advocate for autism awareness on the world stage. I dedicate this award to my beloved brother Ethan and every individual on the spectrum—the real heroes who show up every day.”
The Miss Uganda Foundation has applauded her accomplishment, calling it a national milestone in the effort to promote inclusive education and health services across the country.
Natasha now joins an elite group of continental winners at Miss World 2025, including Valeria Pérez from Puerto Rico, Monica Kezia Sembiring of Indonesia, and Millie-Mae Adams representing Wales. All four were ranked among the Top 40 semifinalists.
Reflecting on the moment, Natasha said:“I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and joy! This award isn’t just a recognition of my efforts, but a testament to the impact we can create when we work together towards a common goal.”
With her advocacy, her book, and her platform, Natasha Nyonyozi is redefining what it means to wear the crown—proving that true beauty lies in purpose, action, and compassion.
