In a surprising turn of events that has left many Ugandans both shocked and impressed, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has emerged as a generous giver a side of him many had not known due to the often controversial nature of his famous X (formerly Twitter) posts.

Gen Muhoozi, whose X page commands a following in the millions, recently launched a unique initiative that has turned his platform into a beacon of hope for many, especially the youth.

Through a slot he created for quizzes, the General poses questions to his followers and those who get the answers right walk away with hefty cash prizes, sometimes worth millions of shillings.

This innovation has sparked a frenzy among Ugandan youths who now flock to his page regularly, eager for a chance to test their knowledge and possibly become overnight millionaires using nothing but their brains.

What has further endeared Gen Muhoozi to the public is his direct interaction with ordinary citizens.

His engagement, often warm and responsive, is a rare gesture from a military general and it’s this openness that has brought the people of Uganda closer to the army’s top brass in a way never seen before.

Freddie Kamukama, one of the recent winners of the highly popular quiz, couldn’t hide his excitement and gratitude after receiving UGX 5 million from the CDF.

“I’m truly grateful for your generosity and for being a man of your word. Time to use this money to buy land, bye bye landlord! Thank you Afande for making it happen, long live Gen MK. This money is going to help me achieve a dream I’ve been working toward, and I can’t thank you enough,” Kamukama wrote on X.

He went on to pray for the General’s political future.

“I sincerely pray that you become the next President of Uganda. Our country needs a leader who keeps his word and uplifts others. May God bless and guide you always.”

Another winner, SS Ssebunya, echoed similar sentiments after also bagging UGX 5 million.

“Thank you, our great leader and next President, CDF Gen @mkainerugaba. I will share the ‘Eid package’ with my family and friends. May the good Lord bless you always. On behalf of my family, I wish you a joyful and blessed Eid day,” he posted with evident joy.

Carolyn Kemigisha, another lucky beneficiary, joined others in hailing Gen Muhoozi’s generosity.

The very first winners of the CDF’s quiz were awarded UGX 10 million each, all of whom confirmed receipt of their prizes an act that has greatly enhanced the General’s reputation as a man of his word.

Through this unexpected initiative, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is not only transforming the image of army generals in Uganda but also connecting with ordinary people in ways that defy traditional military protocols.

His ability to engage in what some describe as a “circustic” yet effective style has not only won him admiration but also rekindled public affection for the military institution.
