The event brought together dozens of corporate entities in a spirited showcase of athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

According to the official scoreboard, NEMA accumulated an impressive 107 points, trailing only behind Ritz Medical Centre, which secured the top spot with 135 points.

NEMA outperformed several traditionally strong teams, including the Institution of Surveyors (103 points), SCD Darling (96 points), and Total Energies Uganda (94 points).

A total of more than 40 institutions participated in this year’s games. Among the notable contenders were State House Uganda, PKF Uganda, UETCL, JESA Farm Dairies, Nsambya Hospital, Rene Pharmaceutical Industries, Uganda Heart Institute, Judiciary, Capital Markets Authority, Pride Microfinance, UIRI, Uganda Security Printing Company, Nice House of Plastics, Uganda Airlines, and Uganda Baati, among others. Even media houses like NBS Sports TV and M & E Associates joined the sporting fray, further underscoring the games’ wide appeal across sectors.

NEMA demonstrated consistency across a range of disciplines. Notably, the Authority excelled in handball (30 points), chess (33 points), and volleyball (8 points). It also made a strong showing in basketball (8 points), football (13 points), and netball (12 points), while dominating in woodball with 24 points.

Speaking about NEMA’s win, Dr. Barirega Akankwasah, the Authority’s Executive Director, said: “This performance highlights the organisation’s holistic approach to employee wellness and teamwork, reflecting its broader mandate of ensuring a healthy environment for all Ugandans, especially, through protection of the ozone layer, under the theme: Ozone for Life. Participation in such corporate sporting events is a testament to NEMA’s commitment to building not only resilient ecosystems but also resilient teams.”

The 2025 Corporate Games continue to serve as a vital platform for networking, promoting health, and showcasing the competitive edge of corporate Uganda, under the unifying theme: Inspiring Corporates Through Sports.
