In a move aimed at sharpening leadership and broadening sectoral understanding, 41 senior officers from the Senior Command and Staff College Intake 008/2024–2025 have set off on a five-day national study tour across Uganda.
The tour, which runs from June 30 to July 4, 2025, is part of a broader Uganda Police Force (UPF) strategy to professionalize command leadership and enhance the strategic capabilities of its senior ranks.
According to the Police, the officers will explore Uganda’s key development pillars specifically industry, agriculture, research and innovation, the service sector, and anti-crime infrastructure. The tour is designed to expose the officers to real-time progress in national development and to build a deeper understanding of the economic and social engines driving Uganda forward.
“This initiative is part of our effort to professionalize leadership within the force and enhance strategic command,” the UPF noted in a statement.
The officers will visit various institutions, companies, and government facilities integral to Uganda’s economic and technological landscape.
The exposure is expected to foster innovative thinking, strengthen strategic planning, and instill effective leadership principles aligned with the country’s development goals.
The Police emphasized that the tour aligns with its broader mission to prepare officers not only for law enforcement but also for roles that support national transformation and security sector reform.
This marks yet another milestone in the Uganda Police Force’s commitment to building a well-informed, forward-thinking, and development-conscious leadership at the highest levels of command.
