The bitter contest over the Kaazi National Camping and Scouts Centre has drawn in yet another accused, after Muledhu David, said to be the National Executive Secretary of the Uganda Boys Scouts Association, was produced before the Makindye Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Brought in by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Muledhu was charged with five offences: unlawful occupation of land, malicious damage to property, conspiracy to commit a felony, forcible detainer, and forcible entry.
Court records show he joins seven other scout leaders—Buragahare Mujuni Patrick, Butumbwire Stephen, Mugisha John, Musoke Stephen Brian, Mununuzi Alex, Orwanga Michael Richard, and Anyango Francis—who are already facing similar charges in connection with the same incident.
Prosecutors allege that on June 24, 2025, the group stormed and forcefully occupied the Kaazi campsite in Busaabala, Masajja Division, Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, paralysing the activities of the Uganda Scouts Association and inflicting heavy damage on the facility.
The magistrate ordered that Muledhu be remanded until September 1, 2025, when the matter will return to court.
