Former Speaker of Parliament and Kamuli Woman MP, Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, has expressed gratitude to her supporters and members of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) following the just-concluded elections for the party’s Central Executive Committee.
Kadaga, who contested for the position of 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female), described the campaign as challenging but uplifting, thanking delegates, party members, and Ugandans for their support.
“Fellow Ugandans, brothers and sisters in the NRM fraternity, permit me to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support and encouragement in the just concluded quest for the Office of the 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female) of the NRM party,” Kadaga said in a statement issued on Friday.
She saluted the delegates who endured “stormy days and sleepless nights” during the campaign period, noting that their commitment would remain an inspiration.
Kadaga also praised her campaigners for standing firm despite intimidation. “Special thanks go to the gallant men and women who raised my posters amidst numerous challenges and threats. In you, I saw the true spirit of courage, sacrifice and loyalty,” she added.
The long-serving legislator reaffirmed her loyalty to the ruling party, which she said she has diligently served since its inception. She also pledged to continue working toward the aspirations of Ugandans.
“Above all I thank the people of Uganda for continuously entrusting me with the privilege to serve you. I re-affirm my commitment to continue striving for our values and aspirations,” Kadaga noted.
She congratulated those who won seats in the CEC race and emphasized that her political journey remains anchored in the service of Ugandans and the NRM party.
