Twenty police officers have commenced a five-day United Nations pre-deployment training at the Uganda Police Force ICT Research and Innovation Centre in Kikandwa.
The training is designed to prepare the officers for their upcoming peacekeeping mission in South Sudan.
CP Polly Namaye, the Head of Peace Support Operations in UPF, urged the officers to exhibit professionalism and discipline when executing their duties on the mission exercise.
She also encouraged them to adopt the spirit of unity and teamwork amongst themselves to ensure successful mission operations.
The training is part of Uganda’s continued commitment to contribute to regional stability through international peacekeeping efforts under the United Nations framework.
