Fire Guts Ntinda Workshop, Vehicles and Machines Destroyed

At least five vehicles were reduced to shells and several machines destroyed after a fire broke out in a workshop at Ntinda, Nakawa Division, on Monday afternoon.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the fire started at about 1:20 pm and quickly spread through the premises, damaging property before it was brought under control.

“Today, 8th September 2025 at around 1:20 pm, a fire broke out in a workshop at Ntinda, Nakawa Division. Five vehicles were burnt beyond repair, two others were partially damaged, and several machines destroyed,” Owoyesigyire said in a statement.

He added that Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services, working alongside engineers from the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL), managed to contain the blaze before it spread further.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established, but investigations are already underway.
