Former Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP), Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi, has reportedly been involved in a road accident while returning from a family function in Kiruhura District.
Sources indicate that the accident occurred as the General was traveling back from the giveaway ceremony of Nsasiirwe Keinembabazi, a granddaughter of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Maj. Gen. Sabiiti, who served as Deputy IGP from 2018 to 2020, was swiftly evacuated from the scene and airlifted to Kampala.
He is currently admitted at Nakasero Hospital, where medical teams are monitoring his condition.
Details surrounding the exact cause of the accident and the extent of his injuries remain unclear, though preliminary reports suggest he sustained multiple injuries.
Security and government officials are yet to release an official statement.
Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi, a career officer in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), has previously served in several senior command roles, including as Commander of the Military Police before his appointment as Deputy IGP.
More updates to follow as this is a developing story.
