President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, is set to officially unveil the party’s 2026–2031 manifesto today at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
The launch comes shortly after Museveni’s nomination as the NRM flag bearer and marks a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2026 general elections.
The manifesto, themed “Protecting the Gains,” outlines the party’s policy priorities and commitments for the next five years. Among the key areas of focus are:
Strengthening peace and security through a more capable UPDF and security apparatus
Promoting wealth creation and job opportunities through commercial agriculture, industrialization, ICT, and services
Expanding infrastructure, including transport networks, energy, oil and gas, and digital connectivity
Transforming social services in education, healthcare, and social protection
Deepening good governance and anti-corruption reforms
Enhancing regional and international partnerships to boost trade and investment
The launch ceremony will bring together Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, NRM leaders from across the country, and representatives from key sectors. It will also be broadcast live on multiple media platforms to mobilize support for the party’s vision.
Following the launch, Museveni is expected to kick off his campaign trail with a rally at Bukalasa playgrounds in Luweero District, a symbolic return to the NRM’s liberation roots.
The manifesto launch is expected to set the tone for the party’s campaign, emphasizing stability, development, and growth as pillars for the next five years.
