The Uganda Police Force has raised the bounty for information leading to the arrest of suspects in the gruesome killing of Mr. and Mrs. Mutaaga in Entebbe. The reward, initially pegged at Shs 50 million, now stands at Shs 60 million.

According to Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the increment is intended to strengthen public cooperation in the ongoing manhunt.

“We initially offered a reward of 50 million shillings for information leading to the arrest of the suspect, whose photo and voice we have shared. This reward has now been increased to 60 million shillings,” Rusoke said.

While urging the public to share credible leads, Rusoke also clarified that media reports suggesting suspects had already been identified were misleading.

“In the New Vision edition of Friday, 12 September 2025, it was suggested that we have identified the actual suspects; however, this is not the case,” he noted.

Police explained that some of the individuals spotlighted in recent media coverage remain only “persons of interest” based on preliminary intelligence, not confirmed culprits.

“For clarification, we highlighted individuals whom our investigative sources suspect may be connected to the crime. Once conclusive evidence is established against any suspect, we will formally release their details to the public,” ACP Rusoke emphasized.

The force further assured the public that any informants who come forward will have their identities protected, as investigators intensify efforts to crack the case.
