The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has confirmed that elections for its Youth and Entrepreneurs League executive members, as well as youth Members of Parliament flagbearers, will be conducted this Thursday, September 18, 2025, in all districts of Uganda.
In a formal communication, NRM Secretary General Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong emphasized that the process will go ahead as directed by the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC).
“This is to reconfirm that the above elections will take place on Thursday, 18th September 2025, as directed by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) in all the districts of Uganda. Please note, this election has not been postponed and will proceed as directed by the NRM Central Executive Committee,” Todwong stated.
Todwong further clarified that the NRM Electoral Commission will oversee the election exercise, while the party’s National Treasurer will be responsible for logistical and administrative matters, including facilitation for delegates.
“The NRM Electoral Commission will be in charge of the elections and will issue guidelines for the elections as required. The National Treasurer will issue administrative guidelines for all other arrangements, including arrangements to facilitate the delegates,” he explained.
The polls are part of NRM’s broader roadmap ahead of the 2026 general elections.
With the youth vote seen as a major mobilization force, the party is keen to strengthen its grassroots structures through this exercise.
