NWSC Announces Water Supply Interruptions in Kampala on Wednesday

Residents of Kampala have been advised to prepare for water shortages on Wednesday, 3rd September 2025, as the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) carries out maintenance and upgrade works.

NWSC – Kampala Water announced that the interruptions will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to allow for system upgrades and routine maintenance at the Ggaba Water Works.

In a statement, the corporation urged residents to store sufficient water and use it sparingly during the planned works. “Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly as we work. All inconveniences are highly regretted,” NWSC said.

The maintenance will affect several areas across Kampala, including Lukuli, Salaama Road, Namasuba, Ndejje, Busabala, Lubowa, Seguku Katale, Nalumunye, Bandwe, Bunamwaya, Kigo, Kyengera, Nabbingo, Najjanankumbi, Freedom City area, Ntinda, Kiwatule, Kulambiro, Kisaasi, Komamboga, Bukoto, Naalya, Kawanda, Lu-teete Masooli, Kyambogo, Kitagobwa, Kiti, Kabaga, Gyokolera, Katadde, Nabu-sugwe, Bulindo, Mayangwa, Kungu, Kira, parts of Gayaza Road, and surrounding neighborhoods.

NWSC appealed to customers to plan their water usage carefully and thanked them for their understanding as the corporation works to improve water supply reliability in the city.
