Kampala Metropolitan Police have arrested 65 suspects in an intelligence-led operation code-named “Dwog Paco” aimed at tackling rising crime in Kabalagala and surrounding areas.
The operation, launched on September 18, 2025, targeted Kasanga, Kisugu, Namungogo, Kanyongoga, and Kasavu parish in Makindye Division.
According to police, the suspects face charges ranging from possession of narcotic drugs to carrying breaking implements.
“The operation was prompted by growing community concerns over robberies, muggings, burglaries, and drug-related crime. We want to assure the public that our efforts are proactive and intelligence-driven,” Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango said.
He added that all suspects are currently detained at Kabalagala Police Division as investigations continue.
Police say the crackdown is part of a wider strategy to restore security and protect residents in crime-prone areas of Kampala.
