Alleged Land Fraudster Charged in Kyenjojo Over UGX 11 Million Cattle Scam

The State House Anti-Corruption Unit, working with Kyenjojo Police, has charged Mugisha Vincent, a man reportedly linked to multiple land disputes in Kyenjojo District, with obtaining money by false pretenses and cheating.

Mugisha appeared before the Kyenjojo Chief Magistrate’s Court on Thursday following his arrest over allegations of defrauding a local resident, Kababiito Sylvia, of UGX 11 million.

According to the charge sheet, between March and September 2025, in Kyenjojo District and Kampala City, Mugisha allegedly obtained the money under the pretense of selling cattle — a transaction that turned out to be fraudulent.

Officials from the State House Anti-Corruption Unit confirmed that Mugisha has for years been a subject of numerous complaints involving land grabbing, trespass, and malicious damage in Ganyinayo Village, Kihuura Sub-county, and surrounding areas.

“Investigations are ongoing into several cases of land grabbing and fraud linked to the suspect, who has reportedly taken over land belonging to several residents,” the Unit stated.

Mugisha remains in custody as investigations continue, and more charges related to land fraud could follow.
