Central Broadcasting Service (CBS) FM has dismissed widespread rumours regarding the sudden absence and employment status of veteran presenter Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba.
Social media discussions and online reports over the past week had suggested that the seasoned political affairs host had been fired and had quickly left Uganda for the United Kingdom. The speculation intensified amid claims that his alleged exit followed a dispute with management over the station’s coverage of ongoing election campaigns.
In a formal communication issued to “The Listeners, Fan Base of CBSFM, & The General Public,” the Bulange-based broadcaster clarified that Nsereko had neither been dismissed nor forced out. Instead, the station said he recently sought medical leave to undergo specialised treatment abroad, and the request was approved.
“CBS management is constantly monitoring Mr. Meddie Nsereko Sebuliba’s situation and wishes him a speedy recovery and safe travels back home to continue serving CBS and the Kingdom at large,” the statement reads.
The broadcaster also thanked its audience for their continued support and loyalty, noting that their trust remains central to its mission. Management assured listeners that the station remains committed to serving the public and the Kingdom with dedication and professionalism.
