The 3rd World Invitation Revelation Lecture has concluded successfully, marking the largest gathering of its kind to date and establishing itself as a global hub for interfaith dialogue and unity.
The four-day event, held from October 30 at the Shincheonji Peace Training Center, brought together more than 1,000 participants, including 440 religious leaders from 59 countries, to explore the teachings of the New Testament book of Revelation and their message of peace.
Religious leaders attending the event described it as a historic platform for learning, understanding, and cooperation. One participant reflected:
“It was the first time I experienced such a free and warm exchange. I felt true peace within the truth.”
Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, chaired by Lee Man-hee, announced the successful conclusion of the lecture on November 6.
The program, now recognized as an international platform for interfaith dialogue, was held under the theme “The Path of Understanding Led by the Bible, the Path of Peace Walked by All Religions.”
Chairman Lee Man-hee emphasized the importance of preserving the fundamental values of religious truth and peace:
“We must reflect on the past when we criticized each other and drifted from God’s will. Let us be reborn as spiritual leaders who preserve the true values of spreading truth and realizing peace. Through dialogue and communication, let us achieve peace—God’s hope and ours.”
The lecture focused on how the prophecies and fulfillment recorded in Revelation can foster peace across faiths. Leaders from Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and Confucianism studied parallels between their own scriptures and the messages of Revelation.
Ven. Yullye Sungwon, of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, said “I believe the reason Shincheonji continues to prosper and develop is because of the power of the Word. This lecture confirmed that this Word transcends religious boundaries and unites humanity as one.”
Mohamed Usman, an Islamic leader from Eswatini, noted that the Shincheonji Church conveys peace.
“The curriculum of Shincheonji Church is perfect; it truly conveys peace and truth.”
The event also featured the World Religious Leaders Revelation Competition, where 317 participants from 60 countries competed, with 154 achieving perfect scores. Following the course, 125 participants—42 domestic and 83 international—were appointed as honorary Bible teachers.
Beyond lectures, the program included interactive activities designed to foster empathy and understanding: Joint Prayer for Global Peace, the Path to Heaven Bible OX Quiz, journey Through the Bible, a theatrical experience exploring the shepherd’s heart and roundtable discussions on spreading a culture of peace
Participants described these activities as transformative. A Buddhist abbot noted that; “They are doing things unimaginable in Buddhism. Seeing monks lecturing on the Bible and Shincheonji members discussing Buddhism was astonishing. It was a time of deep learning.”
A Presbyterian pastor added “Through cultural exchange, we could share our understanding of faith and values, finding hope that religions can truly become one.”
The lecture concluded with more than 1,000 participants including religious and social leaders unifying in a commitment to spread peace and truth. Participants shared real-life examples of interfaith initiatives, including seminars and educational programs.
Ven. Sok Bunthun, Director of Buddhist Higher Education at Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Religion, highlighted the impact.
“During the event, 215 participants signed a Peace Pledge, promising continued involvement in future exchange programs. It was a historic moment when religious and social leaders truly chose peace.”
Plans were also announced to expand cooperation through a Religious Peace Education Camp scheduled for January next year.
At the conclusion, all religious leaders jointly declared. “We will fulfill our mission of spreading peace and truth and guide humanity on the path of salvation.”
A Shincheonji Church representative remarked that the Bible isn’t just a scripture of religion but contains universal harmony.
“This lecture reaffirmed that the Bible is not merely a scripture of one religion but contains universal truth for all humanity. Through the Word, participants learned to understand one another’s faiths and restore the essential mission of religion—peace and harmony.”
The World Invitation Revelation Lecture began in February 2024, attracting 80 leaders from 10 denominations across 28 countries. The second session saw 270 religious leaders from 57 countries complete the course, and the third session marked the largest gathering yet, reinforcing the program’s role as an international hub for dialogue and religious harmony.
The 3rd World Invitation Revelation Lecture successfully demonstrated that through study, dialogue, and shared experiences, religious leaders from across the globe can unite to promote peace, understanding, and the shared mission of humanity.
