A total of 137,546 candidates across the country have today, Monday, 24th November 2025, started their November–December Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) assessments.
According to the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB), the candidates include 80,654 males and 56,892 females. In addition, 22,212 candidates are sitting for Modular and Full Occupational Level 1 and 2 assessments, as well as the Worker’s Pass examinations.
The assessments are being conducted from 743 centres nationwide.
UVTAB Executive Secretary Onesmus Oyesigye confirmed that the exercise officially began with a briefing on Friday, 21st November. He noted that this quarter’s assessment is the largest ever conducted by the board.
Oyesigye emphasized that special consideration has been given to learners with disabilities.
“We have ensured that all 338 candidates with special needs are fully supported with sign language interpreters, transcribers, and guides,” he said.
To guarantee a smooth and credible assessment process, UVTAB has deployed over 150 support personnel for special needs candidates, 920 scouts, and more than 3,500 assessors to oversee both practical and on-the-spot assessments.
Oyesigye also issued a stern warning against exam malpractice, urging heads of centres to display candidate registers and sensitize learners on the consequences.
“We strongly warn all candidates and the public against any form of assessment malpractice, which carries severe penalties under the TIVET Act,” he cautioned.
