Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has directed his official allowances to fund a UGX 300 million upgrade at Bombo Barracks Nursery and Primary School.
The money will go towards building a new classroom block, renovating existing structures, and providing scholastic materials for over 800 learners, most of whom are children of soldiers.
The cheque was handed over by the CDF’s Military Assistant, Col Christopher Muwumba. This marks the first project under Gen Kainerugaba’s plan to dedicate his allowances to pressing public needs.
UPDF officials said the investment will improve learning conditions in barracks communities and called for parents, teachers, and the community to maintain the new facilities.
The support aligns with broader UPDF school projects, including works at Ruhengyere and Lira Army Primary Schools.
The handover ceremony brought together school staff, learners, and parents, marking the start of a significant boost for education in the barracks.
