Wakiso Police have arrested a stepfather after a teenage girl’s unexpected pregnancy exposed what investigators describe as months of hidden torment inflicted on two stepchildren aged 14 and 12.
The crime, which allegedly occurred between June and October 2025 in Nsekwa–Musisi village, only came to light when the 14-year-old pupil was discovered to be pregnant—triggering a terrified confession that led to the arrest of Edirisa Ssentamu.
Police say the girls had been suffering in silence each time their mother left for the market, where the suspect allegedly exploited the opportunity to abuse them inside the single-room house they shared.
The matter was reported to Wakiso Police Station on December 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM.
SP Racheal Kawala, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the arrest condemning the sexual violence acts by guardians.
“We strongly condemn such acts of sexual violence, more so by parents and guardians that these girl victims look to.”
She confirmed that police have opened a case of aggravated defilement and intensified investigations to ensure justice for the two minors.
Police Child and Family Protection Unit officers are currently offering psychosocial support to the victims as the case proceeds.
