Manchester United have officially confirmed the departure of head coach Ruben Amorim, bringing an end to his tenure at Old Trafford.
Darren Fletcher takes over Manchester United on interim basis after Rúben Amorim is sacked.
In a statement released by the club, United said the decision was made after careful consideration, with the team currently sitting sixth in the Premier League.
“With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of achieving the highest possible Premier League finish,” the statement read.
The club expressed gratitude to Amorim for his service during his time in charge, acknowledging his contribution to the team.
“The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to Manchester United and wishes him well for the future.”
