A Kayunga-based TikToker, Henry Bbosa, has been remanded to prison over allegations of using social media to spread hate speech and call for violence against supporters of the ruling NRM party.

Bbosa, also known online as “Gen. Taiga,” appeared before Nakawa Chief Magistrate Rhoda Acham on Monday, where he was charged with publishing hateful content and inciting violence through his TikTok account.

Prosecutors told court that between January 2025 and January 2026, Bbosa posted videos targeting members of the Banyarwanda and Banyankole communities and threatened attacks on NRM supporters in several parts of the country.

The case gained national attention after the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, confirmed his arrest on social media.

Under tight security from Joint Anti-Terrorism officers, Bbosa was produced in court as the prosecution asked for more time to complete investigations. His lawyers protested his continued detention, but the court rejected their arguments.

The magistrate ordered that Bbosa remain in custody until February 11, 2026, when he is expected to return to court.
