KAMPALA, Uganda — President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has renewed contracts and made fresh reappointments for 41 senior advisors and presidential assistants, the president’s office announced, solidifying his reliance on experienced members of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The appointments, made under Article 172 (1)(a) of the Constitution, span key sectors including governance, mobilization, diplomacy, youth empowerment, and national development.
