Police in Luwero District are investigating a case of alleged aggravated defilement involving a 13-year-old female student, which occurred on September 1, 2025, at Bamunanika Trading Centre.
According to preliminary findings, the victim had gone to use the restroom at a local hotel when she was reportedly attacked and dragged into a nearby open room where the act was committed.
Police say the girl raised an alarm, prompting swift intervention from community members and law enforcement officers, who later visited the scene, collected evidence, and recorded witness statements.
Following a manhunt, the suspect, identified as Mabirizi Sharif, alias Muzei, was arrested at kyangwali Refugee Camp in Kikuube District.
Police confirmed that the suspect is in custody as investigations continue.
