“You Are My Courage” – Bobi Wine’s Emotional Tribute to Foot Soldiers as 2026 Campaign Kicks Off

Moments after being nominated to contest in the 2026 presidential elections, National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, delivered a heartfelt message to his loyal supporters — the “foot soldiers” who have stood by him through Uganda’s most turbulent political moments.

“You are my children. You are my courage. You are my strength. We are going into a war that we did not choose. A war we are not trained for. But a war that has been imposed on us, a war for our dignity,” he said.

He reminded them that their mission is not centered on him, but on a shared dream for a just and free Uganda.

“The goal is not to protect me but to protect each other and the dream of a better Uganda,” he emphasized.

With firm conviction, Bobi Wine declared, “We will never give up. We will never retire. We will fight until we are free. And I guarantee you in the end, we shall be free.”

The NUP leader described his campaign as a peaceful protest against 40 years of “oppression, injustice, and dictatorship.”

“This election is not usual. It is a protest against 40 years of oppression, injustice, and dictatorship. We are protesting constitutionally. We are protesting legally. And we are protesting peacefully.”

As he prepares to unveil the NUP manifesto, Bobi Wine continues to call for unity, resilience, and a renewed fight for dignity especially from those who have sacrificed most.
