Entebbe police have arrested two suspects in connection with cattle theft in Kitala Bukandekande village, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SSP Patrick Onyango, the suspects — identified as Lukyamuzi Badru and Bosco Ssozi — were apprehended following a tip-off about suspected stolen cattle in the area.
“Upon receiving intelligence about stolen livestock, our team swiftly responded and managed to arrest the suspects. Several exhibits were recovered, including fresh meat, live goats, animal skins, and pangas,” said SSP Onyango in a statement issued on June 27.
The operation, he said, is part of ongoing efforts to curb livestock theft and dismantle criminal networks involved in animal trade in the greater Entebbe area.
Police have launched further investigations to establish the origin of the recovered animals and whether the suspects are linked to other similar incidents.
“We commend the public for their vigilance and encourage continued cooperation to ensure community safety,” Onyango added.
The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged accordingly upon conclusion of the investigations.
