Nateete police are investigating the shocking death of a three-year-old girl who disappeared from her mother in Kitebi Zone, Rubaga Division, Kampala District.
The child, Bulilian Nambeja, reportedly went missing on December 8, 2025, at around 1:00 PM while with her mother, Olivia Nakanjala, a hairdresser at Kitebi–Star. The family lives in Bunamwaya–Ngobe Zone, Mutundwe Parish, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District.
“A case of disappearance was immediately registered at Nateete Police Division, and search efforts commenced without delay,” said SP Rachel Kawala, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
Tragically, the search ended in horror. On December 9, 2025, the child’s lifeless body was found dumped in a room inside an abandoned building that previously operated as a school. The grim discovery was made by a firewood seller working nearby.
“Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased was first defiled and later killed. The body has been conveyed to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination,” SP Kawala confirmed.
Police have launched a manhunt to identify and arrest the perpetrators.
“Efforts are ongoing to identify, arrest, and bring the suspect or suspects to book,” SP Kawala said.
“We appeal to parents and guardians to remain vigilant and exercise extra caution to ensure the safety of their children.”
The incident has left the community in shock, reigniting concerns over child safety in Kampala. Authorities continue to investigate as they work to bring those responsible to justice.
