Tragedy in Entebbe: Husband, Wife Found Murdered in Suspected Robbery

A brutal double homicide has shaken the Lugonjo community in Nakiwogo Cell, Kiwafu Ward, after an elderly couple was found dead in their home in what police are calling a suspected case of aggravated robbery.

The victims, identified as 69-year-old Mutaaga David and 62-year-old Mutaaga Deborah Florence, were discovered with multiple stab wounds, according to police.

Authorities say the couple was likely attacked in their residence sometime during the night.

Police were alerted to the scene by Golooba Ronald, an informant who raised the alarm.

Responding officers from Entebbe Police arrived at the residence and confirmed the deaths.

Forensic teams processed the crime scene and gathered evidence, while the bodies were transported to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Statements were recorded from several individuals, including Golooba, the housemaid Naudo Daphne, and multiple neighbors. Their accounts are expected to help investigators piece together what happened.

“This is a deeply disturbing case, and we are treating it with the urgency it deserves,” said Senior Superintendent of Police Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson.

“We have collected crucial evidence from the scene and continue to follow leads to identify those responsible for this horrific act.”

As of now, no arrests have been made, but authorities say they are pursuing all available leads.

The motive is believed to be robbery, though investigators have not ruled out other possibilities.
